School Coaching Programmes

Evidence-based coaching using the CAN-DNA-V framework

Our Approach: CAN-DNA-V

Our coaching programmes are built on the CAN-DNA-V framework, a proven approach developed from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and adapted specifically for young people.

CAN-DNA-V helps students develop:

  • Resilience -- the ability to bounce back from setbacks and challenges
  • Self-awareness -- understanding their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
  • Psychological flexibility -- responding to difficult situations with clarity rather than reacting on autopilot

Unlike traditional mentoring or counselling, coaching is forward-focused. It empowers students to identify their own strengths, set meaningful goals, and take action towards the future they want.

What's Included

Individual Coaching

One-to-one sessions with a qualified coach, tailored to each student's needs and goals. Typically 6-8 sessions per student.

Group Workshops

Interactive workshops for whole classes or year groups, building core skills like emotional regulation, goal-setting, and resilience.

Staff Training

Equipping your pastoral team with coaching skills they can use in everyday interactions with students.

Progress Tracking

Validated wellbeing measures at the start and end of each programme, providing clear evidence of impact.

Ongoing Supervision

Regular supervision and quality assurance throughout the programme to maintain the highest standards of practice.

Measurable Outcomes

Schools that work with Elevate consistently report significant improvements across key metrics:

  • Reduced counselling referrals -- coaching addresses issues before they escalate, freeing up clinical resources for those who need them most
  • Improved attendance -- students who feel supported and engaged are more likely to attend consistently
  • Better engagement with learning -- coaching helps students reconnect with their education and find motivation
  • Enhanced wellbeing scores -- measurable improvements in self-concept, resilience, and emotional regulation
